Architectural engineers design physical facilities, buildings, bridges, roads, tunnels, dams, power plants, and systems for water treatment and waste disposal. Study includes fundamental instruction in math, physics and chemistry as applied to architectural engineering. Other courses include fluid mechanics, hydrology, soils, transportation and computers.  Multidisciplinary courses draw from civil, electrical and mechanical engineering principles to convey the knowledge needed to plan, design and manage construction of buildings: from structural integrity to efficient heating and cooling.
